Sarah的作品往往融合聲音和視覺的元素，在自然与数字媒体之间探索和试验，并从日常生活的诗意中寻找物与人的关系。用图案、纹理和混合媒体来捕捉和实现Sarah脑子里奇怪的想法是她的惯用手法。自2016以来，她的作品相继在香港、英国、意大利、冰岛和德国等多地展出。

以下三个作品都是今年Sarah在冰岛参加艺术家驻留项目期间创作的。在6月底举办的个展中，她尝试以时间将作品串联起来，从过去的记忆到当下的生命状态，再到一个想象的未来，进行了一场没有答案的对话。

過去 ——「 SÖNGLA 」

这是一个与美国诗人Melanie Noel合作的实验性影像。Söngla在冰岛语里代表吟唱、念诵。从冰岛传说中的”蚊子”，到海浪撞击障碍物后随着波浪弯曲推进形成的同心圆形式的半圈，也许正是这些物质与意义间一层层的纠缠，让我开始去重新构想刻在记忆深处的过去。

If a person speaks into one end of a cardboard tube, the sound waves spread out in all directions…

As a child she was hospitalized for the butterfly trapped in her throat. To free it she endured injection after injection and thought: mosquito, come silently with your better syringe.

How imperceptibly a thing can come like nothing much and then brighten the current a camera in the disarming flower of blood.

Light appears to bend when it passes by an edge ——

Iceland’s only mosquito lives in a museum.

Vein of dandelion, milky for the mane. Later the stem a hollow, ear to the ground.

现在 ——「 THE DRIFTING CONSCIOUSNESS 」

因为疫情封关后的冰岛变得很安静，很萧瑟却也很适合创作。我住的地方就在海边，退潮的时候我常去布满海草的沙滩里淘宝。因着我与海草间的羁绊，我重新认识了这个奇妙的物种，也更多地认识了自己。于是决定将它们演变成我个人虚构的神秘符号。最终我选取了六种海草，每一种附上我们“意识的交流”的凭证（诗）和一小段声音的创作（当中偷偷加入了一些在冰岛採集的有趣的声音素材）。

Memories came back again

They were just so close to me

Floating freely in the void

Like a fire

Temptation

Frustration

Rippling

Fluttering

I'm enchanted again

 - EGG WRACK - 

What you choose to remember

I choose to forget

Oh, choices

It's all about choices

So we drift apart

In parallel worlds

But we share the same fate

It's true

'Coz we all come from dust

And to dust all return

There is a time for everything

And all things endure for a reason

Like a single raindrop falls from heaven

What we see is just the ripples

Spreading out on a surface in our consciousness

I will trace back to the first cause

Time is melting

In your private thoughts 

I know you already know it

But have you seen the dissolving boundaries?

Between you and me 

You don't need to grasp every single detail in a daze

Pause briefly

Just rest quietly

Listen to my environment

The wave, the wind, the whisperers

Soft and slow

Hear the Halló

未来 ——「 THE PERFECT PROGRESSIVE FUTURE 」

这个系列的动态图像透过数字生成和在冰岛现实采样的融合，来呈现一个在想象与现实间来回振荡的虚拟景观。对我来说，现在的数字世界似乎都太光鲜、太完美了。所以我并不是要创造一个所谓的“极乐天堂”、“科幻场景”，只是纯粹地想象一下，在一个没有人类的简单的未来也许会是怎样。而当我们回到关于物质本质和这个物质世界的基本构成时，自然便会思考人存在的意义，我们又应该如何与现有的物理世界互动这样的问题了……
